Moroka Swallows' strike due to complaints over unpaid wages resolved
FootballKaizer Chiefs and Cavin Johnson to Employ Strategic Transfer Window Policy
- Kaizer Chiefs will take a cautious approach when considering new signings in January
- Cavin Johnson has had a successful time at Chiefs but is not ready for new signings
- At least 10 new faces arrived at Naturena in the previous window with some yet to play
The upcoming transfer window with be accompanied by an eerie silence.
No domestic football will be played due to the Africa Cup of Nations, taking the focus off of the club's stocks.
It could come as a blessing with there being less pressure on new signings, while also giving teams a chance to recuperate.
Cavin Johnson will be taking the pragmatic approach given his short time in charge and the unpredictability of his position.
The interim coach believes he is still in the process of figuring out Kaizer Chiefs' best combinations and has ample talent at his disposal. As quoted by SoccerLaduma, Johnson said:
"At the moment, I don't want any player because I think the time I have spent with them is far too little. You join Chiefs as a good player, and as the coach, I should make you a better player. I am not a magician but I am working on it slowly."
The Amakhosi signed 10 players in the previous window, including Pule Mmodi, Given Msimango and Sibongiseni Mthethwa, as per Others.
Mthethwa and Msimango have been regulars under Johnson and Mmodi has scored four league goals. Others like Ranga Chivaviro and Edson Castillo have also impressed under Johnson.
Colombian Jasond Gonzales and free agent Luke Fleurs have yet to be given game time, but possess the necessary talent to make an impact.
