Defending champion Napoli ended the match with nine men as Matteo Politano was also red-carded shortly before Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the opener for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Osimhen clashes with Mourinho
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho got into a heated argument with Napoli stars Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen before the Super Eagles striker was sent off against Roma, GOAL reports.
Mourinho had confronted Osimhen earlier after he accused the Nigerian striker of play-acting following an incident in which he pleaded for a penalty after a perceived foul in the Roma box.
The Roma boss, however, ended the episode by giving Osimhen a kiss on the cheek as both men reconciled before the 2023 Africa Player of the Year got his marching orders from the referee for two bookable offences.
