  • Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Al-Nassr to a comfortable 3-1 win against Al Ettifaq on Friday
  • The 38-year-old scored and provided an assist as Al-Nassr secured their third win on the trot
  • Victory against Steven Gerrard's struggling side reduces the point gap with league leaders Al Hilal

Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his prowess once more, scoring a goal and setting up another as Al-Nassr triumphed over Al Ettifaq, narrowing the gap between them and Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo's remarkable form in the first half of the season continued, with his tally reaching 17 goals in 16 games in the Saudi top flight during his side's 3-1 home win.

Al Hilal had set the stakes high with a dominant 7-0 win against Abha before the game, adding pressure on Al-Nassr.

However, Luis Castro's side managed to break the deadlock just before halftime when Alex Telles delivered a stunning strike, securing a well-deserved lead for the hosts.

Telles announced his presence on the pitch in style, having missed three games on the bounce, intercepting a clearance from Ettifaq's defence with a sublime one-time volley, marking his second goal of the campaign.

The team's momentum continued in the second half, with Ronaldo assisting Marcelo Brozovic, who confidently converted the opportunity.

Later, the 38-year-old sealed the deal with a perfectly taken penalty, extending their lead despite Ettifaq's late consolation goal from Mohammed Al Kuwaykibi in the 85th minute.

The victory reduced the gap between Al-Nassr and Riyadh neighbours Al-Hilal to 10 points while extending Ettifaq's winless streak to eight games, per talkSPORT.

After the match, CR7 expressed his delight on social media about contributing to three consecutive wins following their loss to Hilal and a draw in their final AFC Champions League group game.

He wrote on Instagram: "Third consecutive win! We're hungry for more. Let's keep going Al Nassr!"
