FootballKylian Mbappe: PSG Star Wins Record 11th Ligue 1 Player of the Month Award on His Birthday
- Kylian Mbappe is celebrating his 25th birthday and still picking up awards
- He received his record-extending 11th Ligue 1 Player of the Month Award
- Mbappe won the same prize in October to be the first to make double-digits
Kylian Mbappe was having a fulfilled day as he picked up yet another award in Ligue 1 on his 25th birthday, adding a record to go along with the celebration.
The Frenchman is one of the best players in the world since his breakout year in 2016 at AS Monaco - the first team to break Paris Saint-Germain’s monopoly.
Mbappe jumped ship to the capital club a year later and has remained there since, scoring goals, winning titles, and breaking record after record in Ligue 1.
His contract is up in the summer and he could be on his way out, with Real Madrid still courting interest despite a few failed attempts at securing his signature in the past.
Mbappe sets Ligue 1 record
Per CANAL+ Foot, the French national team captain was presented with his November UNFP Player of the Month award, ahead of PSG's home game against Metz.
Mbappe scored four goals and provided one assist in three games during the month, picking up two Man of the Match awards and helping PSG reclaim their position at the summit of the table.
Per Ligue 1, he won the award for the record-extending time in his career, exemplifying how much of a dominant force he is in the league. He also won it in October to mark consecutive victories.
By comparison, the Parisians did not have a good outing in the UEFA Champions League but managed to progress out of the 'group of death' on the final day, with AC Milan dropping to the Europa League and Newcastle United eliminated.
Mbappe will hope he can have a greater impact for PSG in their Round of 16 clash with Real Sociedad on Valentine's Day next year.
