Lionel Messi appears to be enjoying life in Miami as he explores the city after the end of the Major League Soccer regular season, in which his team failed to reach the playoffs.

The Argentine star joined Inter Miami in July after running down his Paris Saint-Germain contract and instantly impacted the team, helping them to the inaugural Leagues Cup.

An injury to Messi in the September international break derailed Miami's season, losing the US Open Cup final to Houston Dynamo and then losing out on an MLS playoff spot.

He returned for the season's final game, but his presence was not enough to help the Herons avoid defeat as they crumbled to a 1-0 loss to Charlotte FC.

The Argentina captain has played his final official games in 2023, both of which came in the CONMEBOL edition of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign: a 2-0 home loss to Uruguay and a 1-0 away win over Brazil.

He is now exploring the city of Miami at his leisure. As seen in a video on social media, he visited a grocery store, and the fans could not let the opportunity pass to take pictures with the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner.

One noticeable thing from the video was the former Barcelona captain walking alone and the absence of his bodyguard, Yassine Chueko, who is usually seen around him, even on the touchline.

Per SportBible, Messi could have another of his former Barcelona teammates at the Floridian franchise by the start of the new MLS season, with Luis Suarez set to join the club after departing Gremio.
