  • Samuel Eto'o is reportedly being investigated for his 'refusal' to pay child support
  • The former Cameroon striker's daughter has filed a complaint against the legend

Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto'o has found himself in trouble once again after his eldest daughter, Annie, opened a legal case against him for failing to pay child support.

The ex-Barcelona and Inter Milan forward is reportedly being probed by authorities in Italy for allegedly avoiding his legal obligation to his progeny.

Annie, the daughter of Anna Maria Barranca, was not in the player's life until 2015 when a court confirmed she was the footballer's child following a DNA test.

Eto'o was reportedly instructed to pay €10,000 to Annie as child support, but the player has reportedly not provided the money for his daughter's upkeep.

Although Annie is 21 years old and legally an adult, she is a student and dependent on her struggling mother, which leaves the four-time African footballer of the year with the obligation of taking care of his daughter.

According to Football Espana, Eto's daughter submitted the complaint this week as authorities opened an investigation into the matter, per Marca.

Eto'o is currently the head of the Cameroonian Football Federation. The two-time AFCON winner is hoping to see his nation claim continental glory in Ivory Coast.

The Indomitable Lions have been drawn in Group C of the tournament alongside Senegal, the Gambia and Guinea, per Rueters.

When Eto's daughter wanted dad jailed

Earlier this year, Sports Brief also reported on Eto'o facing possible jail time if another of his children had anything to say about this.

Erika Nieves, who was declared the Cameroonian legend's daughter via a court ruling, claimed he had refused to pay child support.

When Eto'o faced a CAF probe

Sports Brief also previously reported on FECAFOOT stakeholders reporting Eto'o to CAF - the African football governing body - about his conduct.

However, the organisation released a statement saying the Cameroonian legend was presumed innocent until a 'judicial body concluded otherwise'.
