- Sergio Aguero has made a Premier League title prediction for this season
- Liverpool and Arsenal have emerged as the early favourites to win the title
- However, Man City have also been backed to defend the title successfully
Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero has made a surprise Premier League title prediction ahead of the second half of the 2023/24 season.
City are facing stiff competition in their bid to retain the crown, with Arsenal and Liverpool in the frame to challenge them.
The Citizens currently sit fourth in the standings with 34 points after 17 rounds of matches, having endured a frustrating run in the last few weeks that has seen them win just one of their last five fixtures.
Be that as it may, they remain the odds favourites to win this season's Premier League title.
Aguero makes surprise EPL prediction
However, Aguero, who claimed several league triumphs with City, contends his former side will face serious threats from three clubs in that bid.
According to the legendary striker, Manchester United are 'one of the biggest threats' to City's hopes of winning a fourth consecutive EPL title.
The Mirror reports that Aguero's claim comes at a time when United are equally struggling for form and consistency.
The Argentine went on to include Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United among the three teams he expects to challenge for the crown.
"You can never sleep on Man United at this stage of the season. They are one of the biggest threats to Man City’s Premier League title," Aguero said, per The Standard.
"I also think Tottenham are title contenders, who have improved a lot under Ange Postecoglou," he continued.
