However, Goal reports that the Argentinian could not see out the entire match as he was red-carded in the closing stages following two yellow cards in two minutes.

Guzman was handed his marching orders in the 95th minute of the clash and told to leave the pitch by centre referee, Adonai Escobedo.

But rather than go down the tunnel as required, the veteran goalkeeper had other ideas to stay on and watch the remainder of the tie.

Guzman hides under blanket

A video doing rounds on social media showed the 37-year-old hilariously pulling off a manoeuvre before hiding behind the net.

The video showed Guzman peeping from underneath a tarp as he watched the end of the contest.

However, he may have wanted to head down the tunnel as his side conceded two goals after his red card and eventually lost the final.

His antics caused a stir online, with fans taking to social media to react to his ingenious idea.

Arteta gets yellow card

Sports Brief previously reported on opinion being divided after Mikel Arteta was shown a yellow card during Arsenal's Premier League clash against Brighton on Sunday.

The Spanish manager was booked in the closing stages of the first half with the scores still goalless. His team went on to grind out a win over the Seagulls to top the EPL.
