The Erik ten Hag-tutored side have endured a frustrating run of form so far this season, with the team currently struggling for consistency.

Reports claim Ten Hag is keen to strengthen his squad in the upcoming window in a bid to finish the season on a high.

However, Metro UK reports that United would need to offload some players currently deemed surplus to requirements.

Which players could Man United sell?

It is believed that the Old Trafford dwellers are open to offloading the quartet of Casemiro, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial.

Sancho fell out with Ten Hag back in September after the winger publicly differed with the Dutchman and is yet to be reintegrated back into the squad.

According to Goal, the Englishman is expected to push for a January exit as he seeks to get his career back on track.

While United are not expected to sanction the departures of Casemiro, Varane, and Martial - it is believed the EPL giants are willing to listen to offers for the trio.

The January transfer window represents the only opportunity for United to secure a transfer fee for Martial, with the Frenchman's current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

On their part, Varane and Casemiro have endured their fair share of struggles this term, months after playing an influential role in Ten Hag's largely successful debut season at Old Trafford last term.

Possible replacements for ten Hag at United

Sports Brief also previously analysed six available world-class managers who could replace Erik ten Hag as the United coach remains under fire.

The Dutchman has come under immense criticism in recent weeks owing to the Red Devils' struggles this season across all competitions.
