English singer Ed Sheeran stole the show on Saturday, December 16, with his ecstatic celebrations after his favourite team, Ipswich, scored against their local rivals Norwich.

On Saturday, Ipswich took on their local rivals at Portman Road in the first East Anglian derby in four years, and the game lived up to its hype.

Ipswich, also known as the Tractor Boys, took the lead through Nathan Broadhead in the 34th minute, but Norwich turned the game around courtesy of a brace from Jonathan Rowe.

According to GOAL.com, the game's best goal was reserved for Ipswich, who equalized through a beautiful strike by Wes Burns in the 60th minute.

As soon as the shot found the back of the net, home fans went into delirium and cameras panned to the ‘Shape of You’ singer, who was delighted for his team.

In the stands, Ed Sheeran could hardly contain his excitement as he hugged random fans to celebrate his team’s second goal.

The game ended in a 2-2 stalemate, which benefited Ipswich more as they went level on points with Leicester, who are at the top of the Championship. The Foxes, however, have a game in hand.

Ipswich among promotion favourites

The Tractor Boys have defied the odds this season and have made a strong case for themselves as promotion favourites.

With their draw against Norwich, they go 11 points clear of third-place Leeds United, a gap which gives them a genuine chance at gaining automatic promotion.
