However, in a video shared on social media, the Black Stars deputy captain has started individual training and could return to action before the end of the year.

This is also huge news for the Black Stars as preparations begin ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Partey missed Ghana's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros in November, but he is expected to be included in the team for the tournament in Ivory Coast next month.

The Black Stars are chasing their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 1982 when they won their fourth trophy.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside seven-time champions Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique, as reported by Citi News.

Mikel Arteta gives Partey injury update

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta disclosed the possible return date for injured Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey.

The 30-year-old has been out injured since October, missing several games for the Gunners and Ghana's Black Stars.

Partey has started light training and could be passed fit in the coming weeks.

Real Sociedad interested in Thomas Partey

Sports Brief also reported that Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey could return to Spain in the winter transfer window amid reported interest from La Liga outfit, Real Sociedad.

The UEFA Champions League campaigners are said to be preparing an ambitious bid for the 30-year-old Arsenal midfielder.

Partey has struggled with fitness since joining the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020.
