Banyana Banyana striker Thembi Kgatlana has shared a cryptic post hours after Asisat Oshoala edged her and Barbra Banda to the 2023 CAF Women's Player of the Year Award.

Oshoala won the prestigious award for a record 6th time at the award ceremony in the Moroccan city of Marrakech, continuing her dominance in the continent’s women’s game.

The Nigerian international received the prize in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022 and beat South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana and Barbara Banda of Zambia to bag the latest accolade that cemented her status on the continent.

Barbra Banda took to X to congratulate the Barcelona Femeni striker for winning the prize, while Kgatlana shared a cryptic post on her Instagram Story.

Banda tweeted:

"Happy to have made it to the CAF FIFPRO team of the year, a great honor. Congratulations to the amazing Asisat Oshoala for winning the player of the year, happy to have made the top 3 and motivation for me to keep working hard and pushing myself."

South Africa's lethal forward, Kgatlana, on the other hand, shared 'crying emojis' on her Instagram Story and another post with the quote 'let your will be done in my life.'

The special and memorable moment was witnessed by a handful of family members and well-wishers, who were left emotional by the romantic occasion.

On the day of the engagement, wearing white suits respectively, the couple shared warm hugs while soul and love songs echoed through the arena.
