Kaizer Chief interim manager Cavin Johnson has sent a strong message across to the club's fans ahead of their Premier Soccer League (PSL) tie against Richards Bay this weekend.
The AmaKhosi faithful are clamouring for success as they have endured eight seasons without a trophy.
The Glamour Boys are still without a permanent manager since Molefi Ntseki decided to part ways with the club.
Johnson, who is currently working as the club's coach on an interim basis, has called upon the fans to cheer up the players whether they win or lose a game, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"We want them to cheer our players, win or lose because we are trying our best, it is not like we are sitting back at the Village and twiddling our thumbs, we know they come out in numbers, pay their hard-earned money," he said.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant manager gave the fans his word about the team working hard to turn things around.
“We want to let them know that, we also put in a lot of hard work and sometimes the game can be cruel for both sides, we have to accept a defeat sometimes and wins that come with being a Kaizer Chiefs fan, employee, or Chiefs player.”
Chiefs staunch supporter passes away at 35
Sports Brief earlier reported on the death of Kaizer Chiefs' staunch supporter Bulelwa Mkutukana, better known as Zahara.
The singer, who once performed at the home of the late icon, Nelson Mandela, had been in hospital after suffering from severe pain.
It is believed that due to alcoholism, Zahara had suffered liver damage, as confirmed by her manager, Oyama Dyosiba in 2019. Her sister, Nomonde had stated that the doctors had warned Zahara to quit alcohol or she would not survive, per The Guardian.
