Ronaldo showed his class during Al-Nassr’s last fixture in the King Cup, scoring his 20th goal of the season and his 50th goal of the calendar year.

The former Real Madrid star scored his team's fourth goal of the game as they beat Al-Shabab 5-2 to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

Having notched 50 goals in a year for the eighth time in his career, many are praising Ronaldo for the feat. His fans believe the feat further cements his legacy as the greatest of all time.

The GOAT debate is not over

Whenever there is mention of the Portuguese forward being the GOAT, however, there will be those who argue why that title belongs to Messi.

Fans are currently debating on social media whether Ronaldo’s 50 goals are worthy of being talked about, especially considering that he is playing in a lesser league.

Here's what people had to say about Ronaldo’s latest achievement:

@vijithkumar557:

"Bro we don't care. Messi won the World Cup. In 20 years, people won't talk about Messi not scoring 50 goals in 2023. But people will talk about Ronaldo not winning the World Cup with Portugal despite being the 'GOAT'."

@psg_chief:

"Cristiano Ronaldo had not scored 50 goals in a calendar year since 2017😂😂😂😂 Mr Influencer needed to play in a 66th-ranked league and against plumbers to be able to reach 50 goals in a year again."

@Leo_messii_8:

"Ronaldo has scored 50 goals in 2023. Well, let me remind you that Messi literally did that 9 times and also in the hardest league."
