FootballXabi Alonso’s Unstoppable Bayer Leverkusen Continue to Shine in the Bundesliga and Beyond
- Bayer Leverkusen have won 11 of their 14 games in the Bundesliga, and drawn the other three
- Xabi Alonso's men are yet to taste defeat in the DFB Pokal, Bundesliga and the Europa League
- Bayern Munich were also unbeaten in Germany before the heavy defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt
Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are turning heads in Europe this season.
The Bundesliga side are top of the table after 14 games, but their impressive streak doesn’t end there.
Alonso’s team are now the only side unbeaten in Europe’s top five leagues, having won 11 games and drawing three.
Leverkusen kept up their unbeaten start to the season, earning a hard-fought draw against VsB Stuttgart in their latest fixture. As a result, they are the only side in Europe's top five leagues yet to suffer a defeat.
Prior to this weekend’s fixtures, Leverkusen and Bayern Munich were the only unbeaten sides in Europe’s top five leagues, but Thomas Tuchel’s side were beaten 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt.
As reported by EuroSport, Frankfurt outclassed the defending champions and scored within the first 15 minutes thanks to Omar Marmoush.
Goals by Hugo Larsson, Ansgar Knauff, and a brace by Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe saw Frankfurt walk away with all three points as Munich’s only consolation came through a Joshua Kimmich goal.
Leverkusen not only perfect in Germany
While Alonso’s men are impressing in the Bundesliga, it’s not the only place they are enjoying a great run of form.
The German side are not just unbeaten in the league, but in all competitions. They have won all their DFB-Pokal games to date and have won five out of five games in the Europa League as well.

Bayer Leverkusen mocked despite unbeaten run
Bayer Leverkusen's remarkable ascent under Xabi Alonso's leadership stands out as one of Europe's football fairytales, Sports Brief reported.
Since taking charge in October 2022, the 42-year-old propelled the side to a fifth-place finish in the Bundesliga and a semi-final appearance in the UEFA Europa League.
Leverkusen have gone one better in the 2023-24 season, remaining unbeaten in all competitions, but not all fans are impressed by their current form.
