Jose Mourinho has named Ronaldo Nazario as the greatest footballer of all time, ahead of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
R9 came to the limelight way before Cristiano and Messi and remains an idol to many football faithful around the world owing to his phenomenal skills and achievements on the pitch.
According to the Daily Mirror, Mourinho, who worked with Ronaldo during his days at Barcelona, reckoned that the Brazilian forward is the greatest footballer to ever graze the football pitch.
"Ronaldo, El Fenomeno. Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi have had longer careers, they have remained at the top every day for 15 years.
"However, if we are talking strictly about talent and skill, nobody surpasses Ronaldo. When he was at Barcelona with Bobby Robson, I realised that he was the best player I'd ever seen take to the field."
During a spectacular career with Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Inter Milan, the Brazilian attacker won the FIFA World Cup twice and two Ballon d'Or titles.
Mourinho facing ban for comments
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho faces a ban after making provocative remarks regarding Serie A referee Matteo Marcenaro ahead of Roma's match against Sassuolo, GOAL reports.
The Roma manager had questioned Marcenaro’s emotional stability to work at the highest level, a statement the Italian FA have not taken lightly and is set to punish the Portuguese manager for his comments.
Even if a ban comes Mourinho’s way it is unlikely to be more than 10 days, which means the Roma manager will miss just one Serie A game.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jose Mourinho hates nonsense and is never afraid to speak his mind. The veteran manager reportedly laid into his AS Roma team following their disappointing 1-1 draw in the UEFA Europa League against Servette.
Roma had taken the lead through a Romelu Lukaku first-half goal, but the Italian giants were pegged back by their hosts five minutes after the break through Chris Bedia, as both teams failed to find a winner.
After the game, Mourinho tore into his players, accusing them of being superficial, including summer signing Houssem Aouar, who had an underwhelming game.
