MLS Cup: Ghanaian Midfielder Yaw Yeboah Scores Winner as Columbus Crew Clinch Title

Yaw Yeboah's first-half strike proved decisive as Columbus Crew defeated Los Angeles FC to win their third Major League Soccer title in an exciting final at the Lower.com Field.

The Ghana international slotted home just four minutes after Cucho Hernandez had given the Gold and Blacks the lead.

Gabonese forward Denis Bouanga pulled one back for LAFC but it was too late as the 2020 champions reclaimed the title.

Having beaten Cincinnati in the 'Hell is Real' derby to reach the final, Crew came into the game knowing it would take something special to beat the holders, LAFC.

After a fine start, the Ohio-based club were awarded a penalty on the half-hour mark, which was converted by Hernandez.

Four minutes later Malte Amundsen sent in a defence-splitting pass, which was well-read by Yeboah, who had a good first touch before finishing off to double the advantage.

Crew with the two-goal lead maintained their composure in the second half.

However, after waves and waves of attack from LAFC, Bouanga finally pulled one back in the 75th minute.

Columbus Crew held on to win the title for the third time, adding to the ones won in 2008 and 2020.

Yeboah wins Eastern Conference title with Columbus Crew

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah starred for Columbus Crew as they defeated FC Cincinnati to win the Eastern Conference title.

The 26-year-old played a key role as the Gold and Blacks staged a sensational comeback to beat FC Cincinnati in the Eastern Conference final.

Yeboah started and lasted 76 minutes as Columbus Crew defeated Cincinnati 3-2 at the TQL Stadium.

Yeboah hosts Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie in Columbus

Sports Brief also reported that Ghanaian midfielder, Yaw Yeboah welcomed rapper Sarkodie to Columbus, Ohio, in style after giving him a tour of Columbus Crew's facilities.

The multiple award-winning rapper is in the United States for his Jamz Album tour, where he met the footballer, who plies his trade in Major League Soccer.

Before his show in Ohio, the rapper was invited by Yeboah for an excursion of his club's amazing stadium and training centre.
