- Manchester United bs Bournemouth ended in a 3-0 defeat for the Red Devils
- Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing, and Marcos Senesi were on target for the Cherries
- United's heavy defeat came just days after they beat rivals Chelsea 2-1
Erik ten Hag has finally broken his silence following Manchester United's 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
United were hoping to build on their 2-1 win over rivals Chelsea when they hosted the Cherries at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 9.
However, the Manchester side could not replicate that performance as they were beaten at home and suffered a fresh blow in the Premier League.
According to ESPN, goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing, and Marcos Senesi condemned United to a comprehensive home defeat.
This was the Red Devils' seventh EPL defeat of the season in 16 outings, with the result leaving them occupying sixth place, albeit temporarily.
Ten Hag reacts to Bournemouth humbling
Ten Hag, who has come under fire a couple of times this season over United's inconsistencies and struggles, has now shared his insights in the wake of their latest setback.
Speaking in his post-match briefing, the Dutchman expressed his disappointment with his side's performance, claiming he was hoping for a positive result.
"I am annoyed and disappointed,'' he said via Sportbible.
"I expect something different. I hoped before the game to build on the performance and result from Chelsea. We put a lot of effort in return in the game but the movement in the box was not there," he added.
United will now shift their focus to their upcoming must-win Champions League clash against Bayern Munich next week.
Free agents who could leave Man Utd
Earlier, Sports Brief analysed five players who could leave Manchester United as free agents in 2024, with the club set to undergo a revamping of their squad yet again.
Most free agents are wantaway players who would aid the mass exodus. Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof are at the top of the list, with their contracts expiring in June 2024.
