  • Arsenal are currently leading the standings with 30 points after 13 rounds of matches
  • Despite their fine form, Carragher does not see them winning the EPL this season
  • Only one point is separating the Gunners and second-placed Manchester City

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has claimed four Arsenal stars could cost the Gunners the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal are among the favourites to win the domestic crown this term after an impressive start to the campaign.

The north Londoners currently sit on the summit of the Premier League title with 30 points after 13 rounds of matches.

According to EuroSport, the Emirates-based outfit climbed to the top of the log after their 1-0 hard-fought win over Brentford over the weekend.

Kai Havertz was responsible for the only goal of the match, with the German star coming off the bench to inspire his side to victory in the 89th minute.

Why Arsenal won't win the EPL

Despite many backing Arsenal to challenge for the Premier League title, Carragher contends Mikel Arteta's charges stand no chance.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the former England international claimed that four Arsenal stars could cost the club the title.

"We are only a third of the way through the season but if this is the Arsenal we are going to see this season I don't think they can win the league," Carragher said.
"I am still seeing the same things from Arsenal. I just think individually the attacking players have been average whereas they were on fire last season.

"Martinelli, Saka, Jesus and Odegaard, who was up there with Kevin De Bruyne last season. I know he (Odegaard) has had some injury problems but the stats aren't great," he continued.
