Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan issued a challenge to Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham after the player tagged O’Sullivan on social media.
How did the challenge come about?
The unusual interaction between the pair kicked off when the former Borussia Dortmund star posted a photo of himself holding a snooker cue on his Instagram story.
He captioned it "Watches half an hour of the @ronnie doc."
O’Sullivan, who is one of the most successful snooker players of all time, reposted the image and asked Bellingham to let him know if he would fancy a game, SportBible reported.
While the Los Blancos star didn’t say yes, he replied with a smiling and handshake emojis.
Both men come from Stourbridge
The matchup is more intriguing for many because both men come from the same area.
O’Sullivan and Bellingham hail from Stourbridge, and many have dubbed their potential matchup the Stourbridge Skirmish.
Stourbridge is a town in the West Midlands, England. It is just under an hour away from Birmingham by car, the place where Bellingham played his football before being signed by Borussia Dortmund.
