EFC Worldwide closed out 2023 with a blockbuster event.

Celebrating the most 'thunderful' time of year, the preliminary bouts of EFC 110 rocked the Performance Institute and set the tone for a highly anticipated fight.

Fighting in front of the South African Mixed Martial Arts elite, debuts were made, careers were launched, and hopes were dashed.

The preliminary bouts were for a maximum of three rounds with less than half going the distance.

Given Majuba kicked the afternoon off with a win against Robert Swanepoel. Siya Nomvemve then followed that up with a first-round TKO of Willem Smith.

Sithembiso Hadebe needed the judge's decision to earn his win over Moses Mokhari on points.

Frenchman, Francis Martin made his EFC debut and scored a first-round submission against Nkosi Doyisa. Willie van Rooyen was equally dominant as the referee ended his beating of Mpumelelo Mngoma in the first round.

Steven Goncalves and Tapiwa Katikati went the distance with both men almost out on their feet as they threw everything at each other. It could have gone either way but the judges awarded the fight to Goncalves, much to Katikati's bemusement.

The final fight of the undercard was between Diego Bandu and Flew Munwe. This ended in the first round when 'PangaMan' rocked Munwe with a kick to the torso that left him face down on the mat.

The winning fighters all left 2023 on a high, setting themselves up for a grand 2024.
