Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is up for a prestigious African award after making the final three shortlist for the goalkeeper of the year.
Onana helped Inter Milan to reach their first UEFA Champions League final since 2010 last year, losing to treble-winning English club Manchester City.
Per BBC Sports, United paid £47.2 million to acquire the Cameroonian goalkeeper to replace the departed David De Gea after 12 years at Old Trafford.
He has struggled to consistently make an impact since joining the club, having already conceded over 30 goals in all competitions this season, including 14 in the Champions League.

FootballThe 27-year-old’s exploits from last season with Inter Milan are still fetching him accolades as he has made the final shortlist for the 2023 CAF Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
He is joined by Yassine Bounou, who helped Morocco become the first African nation to reach the World Cup semi-final in Qatar, beating Spain and Portugal. He also helped Sevilla win a record-extending seventh Europa League before moving to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
The third and final name on the shortlist is Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, who won three trophies with African giants Al Ahly, including the CAF Champions League.
It will be a close contest between all three nominees, though foreign-based shot-stoppers are highly favoured over the home-based El-Shenawy.
