Frimpong, who is enjoying a blistering start to the season in the Bundesliga, will become ineligible to play for the Black Stars if he makes over three competitive appearances for the Dutch national team.
According to Frimpong, he has no interest in picking Ghana over Holland, insisting he does not even watch games involving the Black Stars.
“It was nice to finally make my debut. It was against France as well, so it was a nice game. I was really happy about it,” he told Joy Sports, as quoted by Pulse.
“Yes, the coach called me. I had a conversation with him but my mind was already made up,” he disclosed when asked about a contact from the FA.
“No," he responded on watching Ghana games. "I just focus on the Netherlands.”
Frimpong's future at Leverkusen remains uncertain with several clubs showing interest in his services, as reported by Get Football News Germany.
