Euro 2024: Ricardo Quaresma Makes Bold Predictions for Cristiano Ronaldo

UEFA Euro 2024 is set after teams discovered their groups on Saturday, December 2.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal have been placed in Group F alongside Turkey, the Czech Republic and the winner of play-off C.

Former Portugal international Ricardo Quaresma has made his predictions for the tournament, including the top scorer, best player and best young player.

The winger was part of the Portugal squad that defeated France in the final to win the Euro 2016.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan star predicted his former teammate Ronaldo to be Euro 2024 top scorer and best player. He also backed France captain Kylin Mbappe to be the best young player.

Mbappe will be 25 during the tournament, so he probably wouldn't be classified as a young player. Jude Bellingham and Pedri will be favourites for the award if they play.

Ronaldo at the Euros

Ronaldo took his Euro tally to 14 in the last tournament. He is now five goals clear in the all-time rankings after 25 games in the tournament.

He made his Euro debut in 2004 with a goal against eventual champions Greece. Michel Platini is next on the list with nine goals, and Alan Shearer and Antoine Griezmann have seven each.

Only Ronaldo has played in five Euro tournaments, and that number will be six when he takes on the field in Portugal colours. He will be 39 during the tournament, so he could break several records.

Meanwhile, Mbappe will be looking to add a European title to his resume, having already won the World Cup in 2018 with France. The 24-year-old has only played four games at the Euros and has yet to score.

He has played 75 times for France and scored 46 goals, per Transfermarkt. France have won the Euros twice, in 1984 and 2000.

Euro 2024 draw

Italy have been drawn in Group B, and will face the likes of Spain, Croatia, and Albania. While they will be expected to beat Albania, Croatia and Spain will prove far tougher challenges.

Favourites England are in Group C alongside Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia.
