FootballJude Bellingham: Real Madrid Star Compared to World Cup and Ballon d’Or Winner
- Jude Bellingham has received critical acclaim this season
- He has exceeded expectations at Real Madrid after joining them this summer
- The Englishman has now been compared to a Brazilian legend
There's no denying that Jude Bellingham has been one of the best players in the world this season.
The Real Madrid star has delivered man-of-the-match performances all season, attracting comparisons to legends of the Spanish giants.
The England international signed from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €103 million, and few expected him to be the top scorer in La Liga at this stage of the season, per Eurosport.
He has proven his doubters wrong and become arguably the best player in Spain despite being just 20 years old.
He has taken the goalscoring burden following the departure of striker Karim Benzema. With Vinicius Junior struggling with injuries, Carlo Ancelotti has relied on Bellingham to score the goals.
And so far, it has worked. His goals have helped Real Madrid make a phenomenal start to the 2023/24 season and despite the injuries, they are on track to reclaim the La Liga trophy from Barcelona.
Bellingham compared to Kaka
Bellingham's eye-catching performances have drawn comparisons to some of football greats.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's La Liga clash against Granada on Saturday, December 2, manager Carlo Ancelotti said Bellingham is almost similar to Kaka.
Ancelotti knows Kaka very well. The duo won the Champions League and Serie A in the 2000s with AC Milan.
"I have never seen Di Stefano play. In the previous press conference I made the comparison with Zidane… and… well, I am surprised by him, I would say the closest thing is like the first time I saw Kaka. I’m not saying that he is similar to him, but he has similarities to Kaka,” via Football Espana.
Who are the ranked top 10 all-time top scorers of La Liga?
FootballIndividually, Kaka won the Ballon d'Or in 2007 and the World Cup in 2002 with Brazil. In his first six seasons with AC Milan, Kaka was a joy to watch.
By the time he retired in 2017, he had scored 185 goals and provided 147 assists in 559 appearances for AC Milan, Real Madrid, Sau Paulo and Orlando City, per Transfermarkt.
At 20 years old, Bellingham has some way to go. He has 43 goals and 31 assists in 192 appearances in his career so far.
Ancelotti deployed Kaka as an attacking midfielder at AC Milan, the same position Bellingham plays.
