Barcelona are considering signing Portuguese stars Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix permanently as early as January after being impressed with their performances in the first few months of their season.
Felix is on loan from Atletico Madrid, while Cancelo is on loan from reigning Premier League and Champions League champions Manchester City.
Barcelona's financial situation is not good, so the club had to be smart in the summer transfer window. Felix and Cancelo joined on deadline day
Other summer signings include Ilkay Gundogan, who joined the Catalan club on a free transfer. Inigo Martinez and Oriol Romeu also signed for the club.

Felix, one of the most expensive footballers ever, reportedly fell out with Atletico boss Diego Simeone, while Cancelo was unhappy with his limited role at Man City. He said he wanted to play more.
He spent the second half of the 2022/23 season at Bayern Munich. Felix joined Chelsea in January 2023 after signing a new deal with Atletico Madrid.
Both players have become important under Xavi Hernandez. Cancelo, for instance, has started 15 out of the 16 games he's played this season. Felix has started 13 out of 16 games and contributed seven goals plus assists, per Transfermarkt.
Barcelona reportedly fear these two would cost a lot more in the summer and will have more suitors looking to pay the premium price.
According to Mundo Deportivo via Barca Universal, Barcelona want to sign Felix for €40 million, although the forward is valued at €80mil.
