FootballChampions League: What Man United Need to Qualify for the Last 16
- Man United sit bottom of Group A of the UCL following their 3-3 draw vs Galatasaray
- The Red Devils have picked up four points from five of the fixtures they have played
- United are scheduled to face Bayern Munich in the final round of UCL group fixtures
Manchester United are in danger of missing out on a spot in the last 16 of the Champions League following their 3-3 draw against Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils have endured a frustrating campaign in their European efforts this season, managing just one win in five Group A fixtures.
United's only victory in the tournament came against FC Copenhagen at home, with all other matches ending in defeats.
The Premier League giants, who currently sit bottom of the pool, needed nothing short of a positive result during their trip to Galatasaray to increase their chances of reaching the round of 16.
Sky Sports reports that they surrendered a 3-1 advantage to settle for a 3-3 draw at RAMS Park, with Hakim Ziyech netting a brace to inspire the comeback for the Turkish giants.
What needs to happen for United to qualify?
Bayern Munich have already confirmed their place in the knockouts despite their goalless draw against FC Copenhagen in the other group match.
However, the Danish giants, Galatasaray, and United all face an anxious wait to know their fate ahead of the final round of fixtures.
With only a point separating second-placed Copenhagen and bottom-placed United, Sportbible reports that the Red Devils need maximum points against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford to qualify.
But should Galatasaray beat FC Copenhagen in their final group stage match, they will qualify ahead of Erik ten Hag's charges.
Another possible scenario that could see United qualify is if they beat Bayern and Galatasaray either draw or lose against Copenhagen.
