Manchester City hotshot Erling Haaland has broken two records following his goal against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Haaland was on target during City's 3-2 epic win over the Bundesliga side on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium.

The Premier League giants were keen to return to winning ways during the tie, having settled for a 1-1 draw in their last outing against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Despite having already booked a place in the last 16 of the Champions League, Pep Guardiola still named a strong team to take on Leipzig.

BBC reports that City staged a dramatic comeback to see off their visitors, with goals from Haaland and Phil Foden cancelling out Lois Openda's first-half brace.

Julian Alvarez went on to net the winner with three minutes left on the clock to stretch City's lead at the top of Group G to 15 points.

Haaland breaks two records vs Leipzig

ESPN reports that Haaland's goal against Leipzig saw him break two records, including one held by Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

According to the publication, at the age of 23 years and 130 days, Haaland is now the youngest player to reach 40 Champions League goals.

The Norwegian is also the fastest player to score 40 Champions League goals, with the forward achieving the feat after 35 games.

He will be hoping to continue his impressive goalscoring streak on Sunday when City take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Haaland leads EPL Golden Boot race again

Haaland extended his lead at the top of the standings to four goals after scoring in Saturday's match against Liverpool.
