FootballBayern Munich Legend Advises Forward to Leave the Club Amid Reduced Game Time
- Bayern Munich have been in immense form since the start of the new season
- The arrival of Harry Kane has seen some forwards have reduced game time
- A Bayern Munich legend has advised a forward to leave the Bundesliga giants
Harry Kane's seamless integration into life at Bayern Munich has significantly bolstered the chances of Thomas Tuchel's side's defending their title.
However, the explosive form of the English forward has translated into diminished playing opportunities for other frontmen at the Bundesliga powerhouse.
Prominent figures such as Mathys Tel, Eric Choupo-Moting, and World Cup winner Thomas Muller have witnessed a substantial reduction in their game time since Kane's arrival.
Keeping a watchful eye on the events unfolding is Bayern Munich legend, Lothar Matthaus, who recently offered counsel to one of the club's fringe forwards.
Lothar Matthaus offers Bayern star advice
Speaking with Sky Sports, as cited by iMiaSanMia, the 63-year-old former Ballon d'Or winner - who amassed over 300 appearances for the Bavarian club, per Transfermarkt - addressed the situation regarding the forwards at Bayern Munich.
Expressing his concern about Muller’s game time in particular, he stated:
"The situation for Thomas Müller appears to be a gradual exit. The information coming from Bayern does not align with what we observe weekly. Dealing with and being satisfied with this situation is challenging."
Acknowledging fan discussions on the matter, Matthaus recognised that Tuchel must make decisions based on his expertise.
Despite Muller's contributions to the club earning him a bonus, the Bayern legend ceded that more is needed to secure the coach's trust for more frequent starting opportunities.
Addressing the prospect of the 34-year-old forward contemplating retirement, Matthaus commented:
"I can't envision Thomas wanting to stop playing. His love for football is too profound for that. However, at Bayern, he won't receive the minutes he did two years ago. If he aspires to regain the confidence he had two years ago, a change of clubs is necessary. We must be candid about that."

FootballWhile it remains challenging to fathom Muller's departure from FC Bayern, Matthaus drew parallels to the unexpected transfer of Harry Kane to Munich, despite Kane being three years younger.
Nevertheless, amid the uncertainties surrounding Muller's future and his reduced playing time, it's noteworthy that only Manchester United has shown any interest in the World Cup winner.
