Cesc Fabregas' wife, Daniella Semaan, has fired back at allegations that Lionel Messi cheated on his wife, Antonella Roccuzxo, with an Argentine journalist.

A Brazilian outlet broke the news on Friday that Messi and Roccuzzo were facing the biggest crisis of their union after the Argentine skipper's alleged affair.

Semaan, who is a close family friend of the Messi family and occasionally goes on holiday with them, tore the outlet apart on Instagram by saying:

"What publication is this that has no meaning.. and has nothing right," as translated by the Mirror.

The publication adds that the alleged journalist in question is the one who gave Messi a passionate speech before the 2022 World Cup final.

As Sports Brief reported then, the reporter, identified as Sofia Maria Martinez Mateos, told Messi;

"The last thing I want to say to you is not a question, more a statement. There is a World Cup final coming, and even if we all want to win the cup, there is one thing that no one can take away from you, and that is what you have given to every single Argentine. I say this to you truthfully."

Argentina would later go on and win the title after beating France on post-match penalties on December 18.
