The match started with Al-Nassr dominating, with Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca and Ronaldo persistently testing the visitors' defence.

According to Arab News, it was Al Naji, making only his seventh appearance, who finally broke the deadlock via an assist from Sultan Al-Ghannam. His goal, born from a brilliant passing sequence, was a delightful finish that delighted the home crowd.

Though the home team aimed to extend their lead, they faced resilient defence from Al Akhdoud, leading to a stalemate by halftime. Al-Nassr manager Luis Castro sought a change in the dynamics, making substitutions ten minutes into the second half.

The Ronaldo show

Despite Al-Nassr's struggles, Ronaldo came to life in the last 15 minutes. Initially denied a goal for offside, he later doubled the lead with a remarkable strike from a tight angle.

He then capitalized on a defensive lapse, sealing his side's victory with a powerful effort from nearly 40 yards out, taking his tally in the Saudi top division to 15 goals, per Sporting News.

With this win, Al-Nassr closes in on Al-Hilal, now trailing by just one point, albeit having played an extra game.

Up next for Ronaldo and his teammates is a tie in the AFC Champions League with Iranian club Persepolis on Monday, November 27.

Al Akhdoud players argue over penalty

During the same clash, a nervy moment ensued when Al Fatil was suspected of a handball in the box, initially denied by the referee but subjected to VAR review, Sports Brief reported.

During this tense pause, Al Akhdoud's players debated over who would take the potential penalty.

However, the review revealed an offside, stunningly cancelling out the penalty opportunity and sparking relief among the home crowd.
