According to Sky Sports, Obi-Martin was responsible for Arsenal's huge win over their English rivals, with the wonderkid's performance earning him praise from fans, including Gunners' legend Ian Wright.

Wright was quoted as hailing Obi-Martin's potential, saying:

"Chido Obi-Martin, he's 15, honestly, he's like 6 foot 2, he looks really quick."

But who is Chido Obi-Martin?

Incredibly, the 15-year-old is highly regarded at the Emirates, thanks to his promising future.

Despite being a teenager, GiveMeSports reports that he has already played for Arsenal at Under-21s level.

It is understood that he dropped down an age group with older academy sides not in action over the weekend.

So promising his future is that Arsenal have already landed a scholarship with the North London club next season.

What's more? Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has also afforded him a taste of standards in the first team after he was allowed to join them in training.

Obi-Martin was born on 29 November 2007 in Glostrup, Denmark.

While he has yet to break into the national team, he is already working his way into the first team with appearances for the country's U17s.

The youngster is also eligible to represent Nigeria and England at the international level.

Chido Obi-Martin's football journey

The forward started his career in Denmark with local side Kjøbenhavns Boldklub.

He would later move to England as a child, going on to join the Arsenal academy at the age of 14.

He has since quickly progressed through the club's youth ranks, establishing himself as a prolific goal-scorer.

His incisiveness in front of the goal saw him promoted to the under-18 side at the age of 15, with his first start for the side coming in September 2023 against Southampton.

Obi went on to score a hat-trick in the tie to help his side secure a 4–0 win over the Saints to earn comparisons to Nigerian international striker and Napoli ace Victor Osimhen.

A month later, he made his first appearance for the club's under-21 side before being called up by Arteta to join the senior side for training.
