1. France vs. Gibraltar (14:0, 2023)

France wreaked havoc against 10-man Gibraltar on Saturday, scoring seven goals in each half to record their biggest-ever win in Euro qualifying.

Kylian Mbappe starred in the lopsided win, scoring a hat-trick, including a stunning goal from 40 yards out.

Warren Zaire-Emery made history as well, becoming France’s youngest player since 1914. He was one of seven different scorers in the first half, per The Guardian.

Ethan Santos opened the floodgates after netting an own goal in the third minute. Marcus Thuram doubled France’s advantage minutes later before Zaire-Emery made it 3-0.

The goals kept on coming for France, with Mbappe, Jonathan Clauss, Kingsley Coman, and Youssouf Fofana making it 7-0 before the break.

France continued their onslaught in the second half. Mbappe added two more goals during that period to complete his hat-trick.

Giroud also scored twice, while Coman, Adrien Rabiot, and Ousmane Dembele each nabbed a goal in the second half.

2. Germany vs. San Marino (13:0, 2006)

Germany were heavy favourites against San Marino when they met in Euro qualifying in 2006.

The Germans lived up to that billing, recording a 13-0 victory over the overmatched hosts.

Lukas Podolski starred in that victory, scoring four goals in the rout. He opened the scoring for Germany with a header in the 11th minute.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Miroslav Klose, and Thomas Hitzlsperger also had braces for Germany.

Manuel Friedrich and Bernd Schneider scored two late goals to give the Germans the biggest Euro qualifying at the time.

3. Spain vs. Malta (12:1, 1983)

Spain needed to win by 11 goals over Malta in their match back in 1983 to qualify for Euro 1984.

They accomplished that feat against all odds, recording a 12-1 victory over Malta to edge out the Netherlands for a spot in the 1984 European Championships.

Santillana and Rincon starred for Spain in the stunning win, each scoring four goals.

Antonio Maceda also scored a double for the Spaniards, while Manuel Sarabia and Juan Antonio Senor delivered the much-needed late goals for Spain that sealed their qualification.

4. Netherlands vs. San Marino (11:0, 2011)

The Oranje recorded the biggest win in their history back in 2011 when they crushed San Marino 11-0 in their UEFA EURO 2012 Qualifying match.

Robin van Persie starred for the Netherlands in that victory, scoring four goals in the rout.

The Dutch stepped up their play after the half-time break, scoring eight of their 11 goals in the second half.

The Netherlands eclipsed their 9-0 victories against Finland and Norway from 1912 and 1972, respectively, per UEFA.com.

5. France vs. Azerbaijan (10:0, 1995)

Saturday’s victory over Gibraltar wasn’t the first time France recorded a double-digit win over an opponent in a Euro qualifier.

Les Bleus accomplished that feat in 1995, beating Azerbaijan 10-0.

Zinedine Zidane, Marcel Desailly, Youri Djorkaeff, Vincent Guerin, Reynald Pedros, Frank Leboeuf, Christophe Dugarry, and Christophe Cocard were the goal-scorers for the French in that 10-goal thrashing.

Nearly the same crop of players would go on to form France’s World Cup-winning squad in 1998.
