Erik ten Hag suffered another blow after a nasty collision between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marcus Rashford left the latter needing treatment and subsequent substitution.
The two were part of Gareth Southgate's England starting XI that faced Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifiers at Wembley Stadium on November 17.
Rashford has continued to be a mainstay for Southgate despite his struggles for Manchester United this season. The 26-year-old started with Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden.
Alexander-Arnold was meanwhile deployed in the hybrid midfield role that he has been experimenting with since last season. In the 57th minute, the Liverpool assistant captain floated a beautiful ball towards Rashford.
