The biggest World Cup snubs: A list of footballers left out of their countries’ World Cup squad
FootballManchester United Players Who Could Leave for Free in 2024 Including Martial and Wan Bissaka, Others
- Manchester United could be set for a mass exodus beginning in January 2024
- The arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe as an administrator is already sparking changes
- Some players could be leaving for free when their contracts expire next summer
Manchester United will certainly have a mass exodus of players next summer - an activity necessitated by the need to rebuild the team and the arrival of a new sports administrator.
It is fair to say the club has been poorly managed in the past few years and their inability to offload players to make money has reflected badly on incoming stars and their performance on the pitch.
Sports Brief looks at five stars whose contracts are set to expire and could be allowed to leave for free in 2024, as first analysed by Mirror UK.
United players who could leave for free in 2024
1. Anthony Martial
The France international had a Ballon d'Or clause in his contract when he joined the club from Monaco in 2015. He has looked far from a player of that calibre and since signing a new contract in 2019, he has done nothing noteworthy and could leave when his contract expires next summer.
2. Aaron Wan-Bissaka
The English full-back was signed for £50 million from Crystal Palace in 2019, per BBC Sports. He has had a mixed time on the pitch and has been mainly criticised for his lack of attacking instincts. The five-year contract he signed in 2019 expires next June and this could spell the end of his Old Trafford career.
3. Victor Lindelof
Lindelof moved to England from Benfica in 2017 and has played over 200 times for the club. His current deal runs out next summer and having fallen down the pecking order, the Swede could seek a move away from United at the end of the season.

Football4. Jonny Evans
The 35-year-old veteran surprisingly returned to the club eight years after he first departed in 2015. He was brought back on a one-year contract to provide cover after the long injury to Lisandro Martinez. It looks unlikely the deal will be extended beyond summer.
5. Tom Heaton
The 37-year-old goalkeeper’s contract was extended by a year last summer, having been at the club since 2021. Altay Bayindir, who is the second choice behind Andre Onana, is yet to have an appearance this season and with the English keeper's contract expiring in the summer, he could be set for an exit, having played just thrice since 2021.

Five managers who could replace ten Hag
Sports Brief has also reported on five managers who could replace ten Hag if the Dutchman is sacked as Man Utd manager, as pressure mounts on him over poor results.
Former Chelsea boss, Graham Potter is reportedly top of the list, especially if Sir Jim Ratcliffe succeeds in buying a 25% stake at the club, with Hansi Flick also a candidate.
