The records keep tumbling for Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Regardless of the turf or competition, the 38-year-old ensures he leaves his indelible mark wherever he plays.

The Portuguese captain was at it again during his side's victory away against Konrad Funfstuck Liechtenstein.

In the match which was heralded with a flurry of attacking players fielded by the Selecao, the 2016 European champions struggled to carve out any meaningful attempts in front of goal, as they could only record four shots on target against their opponent ranked 200th in the world by FIFA.

The second half appeared to continue in the manner in which the first ended until Ronaldo lit up the scene with a peach of a goal courtesy of a sublime assist from Liverpool forward Diogo Jota.

The goal appeared to be a much-needed boost for Martinez's side as another from Barcelona full-back Joao Cancelo followed shortly off an assist from central defender Antonio Silva.

While Silva was celebrating his first goal involvement for his national team following his assist to Cancelo, it was Ronaldo again who stole the spotlight. The Al-Nassr star again etched his name in the record books.

Ronaldo sets new record

With the victory on the night, Ronaldo became the player with the most wins in European qualifier history, as reported by @timelineCR7.

The former Real Madrid man surpassed former teammate Sergio Ramos and is a couple of victories ahead of Luka Modric and former Juventus mate Gianluigi Buffon.

The achievement by the Portuguese has stirred reactions from fans, and many have been full of praise for the forward.

Ronaldo will hope to extend his record when Portugal faces off against Iceland in their final qualifying fixture for the Euro tournament.
