The Black Stars of Ghana have begun preparations ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers opening game against Madagascar on Friday in Kumasi.

The team left Accra for Kumasi on Tuesday and held its first training session at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last night.

Ghana coach Chris Hughton supervised the team as all 26 players invited were available on Tuesday.

In photos shared on social media, the players seem to leave no table unturned as they prepare for Madagascar and the Comoros Islands.

The team went through some rigorous drills and got engaged in intense ball work as Hughton gets his players in shape for Friday's assignment.

Meanwhile, late invitees Nurudeen Abdulai and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku were also available at training on Tuesday. The duo replaced Abdul Mumin Suleiman and Kamaldeen Sulemana, who pulled out of the qualifiers in the eleventh hour. as reported by citinewsroom.com.

Training will continue on Wednesday before a press conference will be held on Thursday as the gaffer answers questions regarding his latest call-up and the match against Madagascar.

Ghana aims to make a fifth appearance at the World Cup and hopes to start their qualifiers well.

Black Stars arrive in Kumasi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Players of the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars have arrived in Kumasi ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.

The squad led by captain Andre Ayew and the technical team touched down in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon and will hold their first training later today.

The Black Stars open their qualifying campaign at home before travelling to the Comoros Islands three days later for their second Group I game.

Sports Brief also reported that players of the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars have arrived ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros Islands.

The Black Stars will host Madagascar on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before travelling to Comoros three days later.

All 26 players invited by coach Chris Hughton are expected to report on Monday evening as preparations begin for the crucial games.
