The football world is bracing itself for another inevitable summer transfer window laced with news of Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid.
Speculation about the Paris Saint-Germain forward joining Los Blancos has become a recurring theme in previous summer transfer periods, with Mbappe ultimately choosing to remain in the French capital.
However, this time around, there's a new twist to Mbappe's transfer saga. The 24-year-old has decided not to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 club, a decision he communicated through a letter, as reported by Goal. This development adds a fresh layer of intrigue to the ongoing speculation surrounding his future.
However, amidst the summer transfer buzz surrounding PSG's star player, Real Madrid's Brazilian forward, Rodrygo de Goes, found himself at the centre of attention in a recent interview with Spanish Radio Partidazocope.
Real Madrid forward on Mbappe
Rodrygo was faced with a barrage of questions, including inquiries about the potential transfer of Mbappe. When asked what he would do if given the chance to sign the French captain, the Real Madrid forward responded,
"Mbappe? I don't know, ask the president. I would want him at Madrid, of course."
The 23-year-old's words have only added fuel to the ongoing discussions about Mbappe's potential move.
Nevertheless, despite the desire expressed by the Real Madrid forward to see the marquee French star join the ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, the Spanish club has officially refuted claims that a deal for Mbappe's transfer has been agreed upon.

Mbappe told to leave PSG
In a previous report, Sports Brief stated that Mbappe was told to leave PSG as it 'hampers his chances' of winning the Ballon d'Or after he lost out this year to his former teammate.
The 24-year-old had a phenomenal year, reaching the World Cup final and also winning the Ligue 1 title with PSG, but finished third overall behind Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi.
The inability to clinch the prestigious award was widely linked to PSG's continued struggle to secure the Ballon d'Or, making it an elusive achievement for the club.
