Prosecutors in the city of Durres in Albania have raided the offices of FK Egnatia following the death of Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena.
The former Ghana international collapsed and died during a league game between FK Egnatia and KF Partizani on Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the Kavaja Hospital, with doctors confirming he died before arriving at the health centre.
"The patient came to the Kavaja hospital in the 'black code,' that is, he had exitus (the medical term for death), without vital parameters, without tension, without breathing, without cardiac activity. There was no activity in the EKG," said one of the doctors, as quoted by ghanasoccernet.com.
The news of Dwamena's passing has left the football world in shock, and an investigation has already begun in Albania to uncover the course of his death despite his history of heart problems.
Doctors at the Kavaja hospital have been questioned while records of the player's medical has been seized, as reported by panorama.com.
An autopsy is expected to be carried out in Tirana to ascertain the real cause of Dwamena's death.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian footballer Raphael Dwamena has sadly passed away after collapsing during an Albanian Superliga game between FK Egnatia and KF Partizani.
The 28-year-old collapsed in the 23rd minute of the game and had to be rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Dwamena has been playing with an Implantable Cardioverter-Defribillator due to a heart problem.
