Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has paid tribute to Raphael Dwamena, the ex-Black Stars forward who died during a league game in Albania on Saturday.

Dwamena collapsed and died in the game between FK Egnati and FK Partizani.

Gyan, who played alongside Dwamena, as strike partners for the Black Stars during the 28-year-old's debut, took to social media to pay his respect.

Raphael Dwamena dies during league game

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian footballer Raphael Dwamena has sadly passed away after collapsing during an Albanian Superliga game between FK Egnatia and KF Partizani.

The 28-year-old collapsed in the 23rd minute of the game and had to be rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Dwamena has been playing with an Implantable Cardioverter-Defribillator due to a heart problem.
