Thomas Tuchel still rates the English Premier League higher than the rest of the European leagues, including the German Bundesliga.

Tuchel has had stints in the Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Premier League in his managerial career, winning multiple trophies across all leagues, but the German still rates the EPL higher.

According to SB Nation, the Bayern Munich manager explained in a recent interview that the Premier League is at the highest level due to the demands of the league.

“The Premier League is more robust and demands even more from the players than the Bundesliga. That’s certainly my impression. Mentally, physically and psychologically, it’s at the highest level.
“That’s why the teams are expanding. The squads are getting larger, and they rotate a lot more than they did a few years ago.”

Tuchel led former club Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League title in 2021, beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the final in an all-English final.

Tuchel open to Mbappe reunion

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel has expressed interest in reuniting with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe at Bayern Munich next season as it appears Real Madrid are backing out of the deal to sign him, GOAL reports.

The Bayern manager has joked that he is ready to persuade the 24-year-old forward to head to Allianz Arena next summer with his contract with the Ligue 1 champions set to expire.

Real Madrid has decided to end their pursuit of the 2018 World Cup winner, prompting reunion talks between Tuchel and Mbappe, as both parties have previously worked together at PSG.

Tuchel wants to avoid PSG

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Bayern Munich are tagged as one of the favourites to win this season’s UEFA Champions League, but Thomas Tuchel is not ready to face some big teams in the knockout stages just yet.

The Bavarians currently top Group A with 12 points from their opening four matches and they stand the chance of facing French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.

Tuchel has spoken about the possibility of meeting PSG in the Round of 16 and said he would only fancy playing against the Parisians in the final and not the knockout stages.
