- Thomas Tuchel wants to avoid meeting one team in the UCL last 16
- The German manager has guided Bayern Munich to the knockouts
- The Bavarians currently top Group A with 12 points from four games
Bayern Munich are tagged as one of the favourites to win this season’s UEFA Champions League, but Thomas Tuchel is not ready to face some big teams in the knockout stages just yet.
The Bavarians currently top Group A with 12 points from their opening four matches and they stand the chance of facing French champions, Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.
According to PSG Talk, Tuchel has spoken about the possibility of meeting PSG in the Round of 16 and said he would only fancy playing against the Parisians in the final and not the knockout stages.
"Face PSG? I don’t really like playing against my old teams. I don’t want to be heartbroken, but in a finale, why not," he responded to a query about the potential clash.
PSG currently sits second in Group F with six points, one point ahead of AC Milan (five points) and Newcastle United (six points). Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund leads the group with seven points.
Tuchel compares Bundesliga and EPL
Meanwhile, Tuchel has hailed the English Premier League as the most robust and demanding football league in Europe, ahead of even the German Bundesliga, SB Nation reports.
He won the Champions League for Chelsea in his first partial season in charge of the Blues and highlighted that the EPL is at the highest level mentally, physically, and psychologically.
Tuchel will be hoping to guide Bayern Munich above the English teams in the Champions League this season after leading the Bavarians to the Round of 16 with two games to spare.

FootballTuchel fires back at Germany legends
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Tuchel having words for German legends, Lothar Matthaus and Dietmar Hamann after their 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.
The two, who work as Bundesliga analysts, were critical of the seasoned manager's decision-making after their shock defeat to third-tier FC Saarbrucken in the midweek.
After the game, Tuchel was invited for a post-match interview on the pitch and he went off on the two, letting both Mathaus and Hamann know how furious he was with them.
