  • Sven Vandenbroeck has spoken of his desire to one-day coach in South Africa
  • The Belgian noted the quality of the facilities in the country's domestic league
  • Kaizer Chiefs are a possible destination for him but the club has several options

A public nod is akin to an unofficial CV submission.

Former Wydad Casablanca boss, Sven Vandenbroeck has acknowledged his admiration for what South African football has to offer.

The former Belgian player has been linked with the Kaizer Chiefs job but he will face stern opposition for the Amakhosi hot seat.

The 44-year-old coach has experience in Africa with Cameroon and Zambia at an international level, as well as with several North African clubs, per Transfermarkt.

Vandenbroeck's stints have been short-lived, however, averaging more than one job a year for the last four years.

His longest spell was with Simba SC in Tanzania but he has also been in the dugout of AS FAR, Wydad Casablanca, and CR Belouizdad.

Speaking to iDiskiTimes, Vandenbroek stated what draws him to the DStv Premiership:

"The league in South Africa has a bigger impact and the facilities are generally much better."

He had words of praise for Mamelodi Sundowns, whom he helped eliminate from the CAF Champions League with Wydad. The Belgian said he had 'never seen such a dominant technical team on the African continent'.

Taking over at Chiefs would be a baptism of fire as the pressure from the Amakhosi faithful would be relentless from the first game. Additionally, the PSL giants may be in the market for longevity over a quick fix.

Per iDiskiTimes, Vandenbroeck defended his recent early exits, citing demanding contract objectives and interference from senior club officials as the key contributing factors.

Kaizer Chiefs, meanwhile, will likely use the international break to take stock of their situation and explore their options after the Soweto Derby defeat to Orlando Pirates.
