FootballJose Mourinho: Lazio Star Hits Back at Roma Boss After Calling Pedro a 'Swimmer'
- AS Roma and SS Lazio played a 0-0 draw in the Italian capital derby
- Jose Mourinho was critical of the antics of former Chelsea star Pedro
- Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi has fired back at the Portuguese coach
Jose Mourinho got a dose of his own medicine after criticising former Chelsea star, Pedro with his Lazio teammate firing back at the AS Roma boss in defence of his colleague.
Roma and Lazio played a 0-0 draw in the Derby della Capitale, a game that had former Blues bosses, Mourinho and Maurizio Sarri on the touchline for their respective teams.
The two exchanged words during their pre-game conferences, with the Special One rubbing his trophy cabinet in the face of the Italian manager over his comments labelling the Europa League tie against Slavia Praha a friendly.
Mourinho criticises Pedro
The former Real Madrid boss was also critical of his former player, Pedro Rodriguez’s antics and labelled him a 'swimmer' during his post-match conference, as quoted by GIFN.
"Pedro is a great player, but he could also be a swimmer because of the way he throws himself to the ground," he said.
Lazio midfielder, Danilo Cataldi was not having any of the former Inter Milan boss’ comments and fired back at him on behalf of his teammate.
"He’s always the first one to talk about titles. Well, Pedro has won more titles than him," the Italian said, via Mirror UK.
However, Cataldi’s remarks have proven false.
Per Transfermarkt, Pedro has won 26 major trophies in his decorated career, including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League, but the Special One has won the same number.

Mourinho hits back at Papu Gomez
Sports Brief has also reported on Mourinho's clap-back at Papu Gomez after Roma's win over Monza, which the winger missed after a positive doping test.
The Argentine had claimed that his only memory of the Special One was beating him in the UEFA Europa League final last season when he was with Sevilla.
The former Chelsea boss then responded by saying he would never take cough syrup, which the winger claimed he had taken and influenced his test results.
