Kylian Mbappe stole the spotlight as Paris Saint-Germain clinched a crucial victory against Stade Reims.

The triumph at Stade Auguste-Delaune II not only propelled PSG to the top of the Ligue 1 standings for the first time this season but also bore the unmistakable signature of Mbappe.

The star forward wasted no time in signalling his intentions, converting a precise pass from Ousmane Dembele to give PSG the lead in the third minute.

The 24-year-old further bolstered his goal tally by tapping in a delivery from Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler. According to Goal, Mbappe completed his hattrick in impressive fashion, capitalizing on a brilliant counterattack initiated by Bradley Barcola's pass.

The French captain's outstanding performance left Ligue 1 club fans beaming with satisfaction. However, PSG's coach, Luis Enrique, expressed dissatisfaction with Mbappe's display.

Luis Enrique on Mbappe's performance

Following the game, the 53-year-old coach, as reported by PSG Report, voiced his frustration with the forward, saying,

"I'm not really happy with Kylian Mbappe today. On the goals, I have nothing to say. But he can help the team more, in a different way. I'll talk to him about it first; I'll never tell you what it is because it's private. Kylian is one of the best in the world, but we need more. We want him to do more things."

These comments from the former Barcelona manager elicited mixed reactions among fans and stood in stark contrast to Mbappe's own perspective.

The hattrick hero per the media outlet, commented,

"It feels good to score a hat trick. The most important thing is to get a good feel for the game. In all humility, I don't need to play well to score. What I want is to play well and score. My aim is to try and help my team as much as possible."

While PSG secured the much-needed victory, the unfolding dynamics between Mbappe and Luis Enrique in the coming days will undoubtedly be a storyline worth monitoring closely.

Mbappe told to leave PSG

In a previous report, Sports Brief stated that Mbappe was told to leave PSG as it 'hampers his chances' of winning the Ballon d'Or after he lost out this year to his former teammate.

The 24-year-old had a phenomenal year, reaching the World Cup final and also winning the Ligue 1 title with PSG, but finished third overall behind Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi.
