South Africa national team manager, Hugo Broos has announced his final 23-man squad for Bafana Bafana's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.

Among the players he has invited are goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, midfielders Jayden Adams and Sphephelo Sithole, and forwards Zakhele Lepasa and Lebo Mothiba.

Burnley striker, Lyle Foster did not make the list as he took some time off football due to mental health issues, but former Club Brugge forward Percy Tau is available for selection.

Bafana Bafana will take on Benin Republic at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday, November 16, and will travel to Kigali to take on Rwanda for their second game on Sunday, November 19, according to a report by Times LIVE.

The Belgian manager included new faces Bradley Cross and Oswin Appollis, who are both uncapped for the South African national team.

Jayden Adams also returned to the team after featuring for the Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA cup.

Goalkeepers: Ricardo Goss, Veli Mothwa, Ronwen Williams

Defenders: Nkosinathi Sibisi, Mothobi Mvala, Khuliso Mudau, Sydney Mobbie, Bradley Cross, Grant Kekana, Aubrey Modiba, Siyanda Xulu

Midfielders: Jayden Adams, Sphephelo Sithole, Teboho Mokoena, Sibongiseni Mthethwa

Strikers: Percy Tau, Oswin Appollis, Mihlali Mayambela, Thapelo Maseko, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Themba Zwane, Zakhele Lepasa, Lebo Mothiba

SAFA’s financial woes mounting

Sports Brief previously reported that it has been alleged that the current Bafana Bafana camp is unhappy after not receiving payments linked to recent matches.

This would be another episode in a long-running series that most recently had South Africa's women's team unhappy just before the Women's World Cup.

A publication reported inside information they had gathered regarding a payment dispute involving SAFA.
