FootballToulouse vs Liverpool: Klopp Fumes As Press Conference Held Next to Rowdy Home Fans
- Liverpool suffered a controversial defeat to Toulouse in the UEFA Europa League
- The tie, which ended in a 3-2 win for the French side, was marred by VAR drama
- Jurgen Klopp was left fuming and vented his anger during the press conference
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp cut an irate figure after the defeat to Toulouse in the Europa League, taking out his frustrations on the setup of the post-match press conference.
The Reds felt aggrieved after they were denied a late equaliser by the Video Assisted Referee (VAR), with Jarell Quansah's goal in the seventh minute of added time ruled out for a handball in the build-up.
Toulouse initially took a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from Aron Donnum and Thijs Dallinga.
As the BBC reported, Liverpool pulled one back through a Cristian Casseres Jr own goal, with Toulouse restoring their two-goal advantage through Frank Magri.
The pulsating game then saw substitute, Diogo Jota pull one back for the Reds with two minutes of normal time left to set up a tense finale.
However, it ended in heartbreak for the Reds, as they became the latest team to be subjected to a controversial VAR call. Regardless, it has to be said that the Premier League side was far from their best on Thursday evening.
Klopp fumes at press conference
In the aftermath of the game, coach Klopp was in no mood to speak to the media and it showed from his first remarks at the post-match press conference.
"We were about as organised as this press conference!" Klopp remarked, as cited by Daily Star.
The manager then referenced the tent where the presser was being held, close to where home fans were celebrating, adding:
"Whose decision was it to hold the press conference here? That would be a really interesting question. Wow."

FootballKlopp also reflected on the game as he faulted his side for conceding three goals and not doing enough to claim the victory.
"Obviously that nearly happened that we got a point. That would have made the game better and would have felt better in the table. But I would still say the game - we have to accept it. It was deserved."
Despite the defeat, Liverpool remain top of Group E with nine points, while Toulouse climbed to second with seven points.
Belgian club, Union St Gilloise are third with four points, while Austria’s LASK sit at the bottom with one win and two defeats.
