FootballCarlo Ancelotti Delivers a Blunt Response to Mbappe Queries While Offering a Vital Arda Guler Update
- Real Madrid are heavily linked to Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe
- A report had stated the La Liga club were set to back out of a deal for the forward
- Carlo Ancelotti has provided a response to the PSG star's transfer saga
The ongoing saga between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain seems to be a maze of intricate turns.
Following a summer dominated by reports of the La Liga giants having reached a verbal agreement with the PSG forward, Los Blancos would refute these claims with an official statement.
While transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via Madrid Xtra would again suggest the statement from the Spanish powerhouse was to calm the growing tension between the player and the Ligue 1 club.
Nonetheless, ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League match against Sporting Braga, a report from Marca claimed that Real Madrid had decided to abandon the pursuit of the 24-year-old forward and following the conclusion of their UCL game, it was almost inevitable for coach Carlo Ancelotti not to be quizzed about Mbappe's transfer saga.
Ancelotti on Mbappe transfer
Following a three-nil win against their Portuguese opponent, the 64-year-old, who took time to speak to the press, was faced with questions regarding Mbappe.
Responding with a touch of sarcasm, as quoted by Madrid Zone, he gave a blunt "No comment" to the reporter asking about the PSG star.
Ancelotti also explained the cautious approach towards Turkish talent Arda Guler, emphasizing his readiness after recovering from a serious injury.
"Arda Güler? We are being very careful with him. He's young. He only completed four trainings after a serious injury. He will play soon when he's 100% READY."
Despite the joy among Real Madrid fans over the team's triumphant victory, there's a lingering sense that the addition of a striker of Mbappe's calibre could significantly benefit the squad.
The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be one filled with anticipation and speculation. In the meantime, Real Madrid will focus on their La Liga clash against Valencia, with hopes that Guler might make his debut, provided he reaches full readiness after recovering from injury.

Mbappe told to leave PSG
In a previous report, Sports Brief stated that Mbappe was told to leave PSG as it 'hampers his chances' of winning the Ballon d'Or after he lost out this year to his former teammate.
The 24-year-old had a phenomenal year, reaching the World Cup final and also winning the Ligue 1 title with PSG, but finished third overall behind Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi.
