  • Rasmus Hojlund has been impressive for Manchester United in the Champions League
  • The Dane has netted five times so far in the competition, including his brace vs. FC Copenhagen
  • Alvaro Morata has also scored as many goals, having bagged a double against Celtic

Manchester United striker, Rasmus Hojlund, and Atlético Madrid's Alvaro Morata are the two leading goalscorers in the Champions League this season.

Despite United's disappointing run in the competition, Hojlund has proved his worth in front of goal, with the Dane boasting five goals to his name in four games.

The youngster bagged a brace on Wednesday night against FC Copenhagen to catch up with Morata on the goalscorers list.

According to Sky Sports, Hojlund opened the scoring for United inside three minutes of the Group A clash before adding his second before the half-hour mark.

The former Atalanta star opened his UCL goal account for the Red Devils against Bayern Munich during their Group A opener, which ended in a 3-4 defeat for the EPL giants.

He went on to bag a brace against Galatasaray but failed to find the back of the net in United's 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the first-leg tie, which was played at Old Trafford.

On his part, Morata was at the double on Tuesday night against Celtic as Atletico demolished the Scottish giants 6-0 to take his tally to five goals.

The Spaniard scored a brace against Feyenoord in his side's second Group E match before scoring once in their first leg against Celtic.

Haaland, Kane among UCL top scorers

Meanwhile, Manchester City hotshot, Erling Haaland, and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane have also been impressive in the Champions League.

Both players have scored four goals each, with Kane scoring a brace in his side's 2-1 win over Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

Haaland was also twice on target earlier on Tuesday night when City hammered Young Boys 3-0 to qualify for the knockouts.

The Norwegian scored a total of 12 goals in the group stages of the Champions League last season.

Elsewhere, FC Porto's Evanilson is responsible for the only hat-trick that has been scored so far this term.

Evanilson scored the treble in his side's 4-1 win over Antwerp back in October.
