The former Barcelona defender sparked a classic rivalry debate between the Catalan club and their arch-rivals by criticising Real Madrid's Champions League triumph from the previous year.

As reported by Diario AS, Pique has asserted that Barca's victories would be remembered forever, dismissing Los Blancos' title challenge as a miracle, citing perceived inferiority in each round.

These bold statements have clearly unsettled supporters of Real Madrid, leading to a fiery response from coach Carlo Ancelotti, who strongly disagreed with the former defender's words.

Ancelotti fires back at Pique

During a press conference following Real Madrid's group stage victory against Sporting Braga, the Italian was questioned about his thoughts on Pique's comments.

Ancelotti said via Madrid XTRA:

"Pique’s words? He lives in his own world. No one will ever forget our 14th Champions League title. We will remember it for all our lives. [The] Champions League is a special competition for us. Real Madrid have built its history on this competition."

No doubt, this reflects a strong and resilient reply from the Italian manager. Real Madrid fans will surely be content with their coach's assertive words in response to the outspoken Pique.
